Topiary Trees and Sculptures

Topiary Trees

Topiary is the art of training plants (typically evergreen shrubs and trees) into intricate or stylized shapes and forms.

In order to maintain the design of your topiary trees, you should make an effort to trim them annually using topiary sheers or hedge-cutters in order to ensure that the specimen does not lose its shape. However, if you have a faster-growing species of plant, then you may have to trim it as much as twice a season. In addition to this, all suckers and unwanted branches should be removed so that the tree continues to look its best.

The resurgence in popularity that topiary has experienced has resulted in it being a fantastic way to make your garden unique. Topiary is once again considered a respected art form, leading to the variety and quality in designs becoming truly amazing.

Topiary trees have been prominent in some of the world’s most elegant gardens dating all the way back to Roman times. Today, topiary is often used to make a statement as the centrepiece of a garden, or as an interesting decoration for a patio or terrace. Our range at Olive Grove Oundle features a wide variety of distinctive designs that are sure to stand out amongst the rest of your greenery.
