End of an era

Dear Customer,

This letter is to inform you that of 1^st July 2016 we will no longer be the owners of The Olive Grove

Over the last 7 years, most of you will have heard both of us say that it was our intention to build a Home and Garden business that was not a typical garden centre, but a destination with a difference. You will also no doubt have heard us say that it was always our intention to sell it in the future in order that we could spend more time visiting our children and grandchildren who, as most of you will know , are scattered around the world!

We have enjoyed our journey at The Olive Grove immensely and many of our customers have been our inspiration to create what we have today. Your support has been truly welcomed and appreciated and for that we thank you unconditionally.

During our time here, we have made the most of our judgements and decisions around a few simple values: Warmth, Integrity, Honesty, Passion and it may sound a little silly but also Love and we sincerely hope that you have all shared some of those values with us.

Our staff, from day one have been amazing. They are such a diverse group of people creating something special together. Each and every one of them have been a great support to us and without them The Olive Grove would not have been as successful as it has been.

Some of you may already be aware of the new owners ‘Waterside Garden Centre’ at Baston. The Parrott family have, over the last 26 years built one of the best family-owned independent garden centres in the UK.

During the last six months, we have worked extremely closely with Andy, Sue and Jon who understand the quirkiness of The Olive Grove. They appreciate that it is different and they are keen to keep it that way. These guys tick the all the boxes and we are sure that they will make great long-terms owners of ‘Olive Grove Oundle’ (the new name). They have some great plans to enhance the business, note the word ‘enhance’ and not ‘change’ and we are confident given the time and support from our customers, they will make an even greater success. We are keen to help Andy and Jon with the transition and will therefore be around till the end of August.
